Zhong Gan Ling

This formula is the big guns of the cold and flu season. If your symptoms are advancing and now you've got a severe head cold or flu with headache, sore throat, nasal congestion, body aches, fever, and chills, use Zhong Gan Ling. TCM Functions: Dispels Wind, Clears Heat, Expels Toxic-Heat, Cools the Blood, Releases Pathogenic Influences from the Muscle Level.

Ingredients (Pin Yin): Mao dong qing, Ge gen, Ma bian cao, Ban lan gen, Qing hao, Shi gao, Qiang huo.

Ingredients (Botanical): Ilex pubescens root, Pueraria lobata root, Verbena officinalis herb, Isatis indigotica root, Artemisia annua herb, Gypsum fibrosum mineral, Notopterygium incisium root & rhizome Microcrystalline cellulose, Magnesium stearate, Hypromellose, Talcum.

Standard Dosage: 4-6 tablets, 3 x per day.

Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating.For prevention: 4 tablets may be taken twice a day. In acute cases the dosage may be increased to 4 tablets every 2-4 hours, then reduced as the formula takes effect. Once the acute symptoms of this condition are resolved, this formula should be discontinued.

Contraindications: Contraindicated during pregnancy.

This formula is the big guns of the cold and flu season. You can use it alone or with Yin Chiao and Gan Mao Ling depending on whether the congestion or throat is bothering you more. All three are fine to use together, the herbs complement each other.
